Taylor Swift Donates Thousands of Dollars to a Fan’s GoFundMe

Taylor Swift donated $15,500 to a fan’s GoFundMe project this past weekend, proving yet again with her charitable generosity just why everyone loves her.

The GoFundMe page was set up by Sadie Bartell for her mother Lauriann, who has been in a coma for the past three years, working to raise money for the bills their family has been accumulating – Sadie, a die-hard Swiftie, decided to take a chance and try to reach out to Taylor for help.

Sadie had tweeted the GoFundMe link to Taylor earlier this month asking for help and thanking her for being such an inspiration, and hoped that the musician would see it in the sea of other fan tweets and responses. With luck on her side, it worked, and this past weekend a donation appeared on the Bartells’ GoFundMe page from Taylor saying “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift” (the names of her two cats who seemed to have given their seal of approval).

Sadie went to Twitter and Facebook to show her thanks and love for the popstar, who she said gave her family the support and strength they “needed to carry on.” She also explained in her posts how Taylor has always been there for them with her music as a “light at the end of the tunnel”, and just how thankful she was to everyone who had helped donate so far.

As of now, the family’s GoFundMe has raised a little over $26,000 with help from Taylor and others from around the world. You can donate at their GoFundMe page here, too, and help the Bartells reach their goal amount of $40,000!
