Did the Host-Less Oscars 2019 Work?

What do you all think about host-less opening at the Oscar?
It was known that the 91st Academy Awards wouldn’t have a host this year, first time in three decades, but why? Celebrities, who had been invited to host an event found different reasons to reject an invitation, such as scheduling conflict, or inappropriate jokes, and etc. I believe that host-less opening left a big concern of the publicity and participants because it definitely made one of the biggest shows disorganized.
I, personally, think that it wasn’t the best idea. There should always be someone who will help to organize people and keep the atmosphere on TOP during an event like this. Monologues and jokes is what was missing.
Queen with Adam Lambert as the lead singer tried to kick things off at the beginning of the ceremony, but the real savors of the night according to Twitter users were Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph. This trio for sure deserved an Oscar for saving the night.
So, what is your opinion on this point? Do you believe it was the biggest fail of the Academy Awards for doing host-less opening, or did they just invent a new way of holding a show?
