Today was a devastating day for France. A lot of people are watching the Notre Dame cathedral. They’re expecting nothing but the skeleton of the building to survive the fire. The fire was caused from a renovation project that was going on inside of the cathedral.
The landmark was one of Paris’ most visited spots by tourists and is one of the most famous landmarks in the world.
People from all over and Paris are buzzing about the devastation on Twitter. Here is what they have to say.
Notre Dame is burning, and nothing but the skeleton is expected to survive. The art historian in me weeps for what is lost. Religious relics believed to be pieces from the Crucifixion cross and Crown of thorns; the paintings and bronzes; the mosaics held within… I am stunned. pic.twitter.com/fnzUh4AAPb

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is burning. I’m a lover of history and this makes me deeply saddened. This cathedral was built 800 yrs ago and survived the Hundred Years’ War, French Revolution, and two World Wars. Here are some subpar photos I took when I visited in 2012.💔 pic.twitter.com/5dWS7b8Exg
