Tuesday, April 30th was a special day for Brendon Urie from Panic! at the Disco; he received the Key to the City in Las Vegas, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in music.
He was presented this amazing opportunity by Las Vegas Commissioner Jim Gibson. The singer joins artists like Elvis Presley, Madonna and Britney Spears who received the honor before him.
Panic! At The Disco posted about the achievement on their instagram account captioning, “Started with the Devil’s Key, now we’re here 🔑 Honored to accept the key to my hometown of Las Vegas today ❤️.”
Throughout Urie’s career he has celebrated his Vegas roots, from recording the Grammy-nominated band’s Pretty.Odd. album at The Palms hotel to countless videos and photo shoots in his hometown. Also, the Las Vegas Golden Knights currently use Panic!’s “Vegas Lights” as their goal song.
Bendon has recently be known to giving back to his community as well, through his Highest Hopes Foundation. Partnering with State Farm and the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, the organizations plan to break ground on a Youth Notes for Notes recording studio for local children, which will open later this year. We look forward to see what other achievements he will receive throughout the year.
