Kim Kardashian has stirred up some controversy this week after announcing the launch of her new shapewear line, Kimono.
Finally I can share with you guys this project that I have been developing for the last year.
I’ve been passionate about this for 15 years.
Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work.

The name is supposed to be a play on her own first name, but she’s received public backlash as well as a letter from the mayor of Kyoto begging for her to change the brand name as it is also the name of a Japanese clothing item with a rich history.

Fans did not appreciate having pieces of their culture taken for the sake of shapewear. After the backlash, Kim decided to change the name of the brand, but fans are still calling her out claiming that it was all just a stupid marketing tactic. What’re your thoughts on her actions?
My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name. I will be in touch soon. Thank you for your understanding and support always.
