Ben Cook, is the one that gave Ed Sheeran his big break with his first record deal. Well, the music world has been shocked by the announcement of Ben stepping down from his position as president of Atlantic Records.

According to BBC News, the announcement comes after the backlash that Ben has been getting over him dressing up as a member of Run DMC at a Halloween party. The catch is this party happened 7 years ago.  Ben told BBC that he was invited to this party where everyone was asked to dress up as their favorite musician. Ben dressing up as Run DMC caused quite a disturbance.

According to the BBC, Ben said that late last year was when the rumors began to circulate about his appearance at the event, many of which are untrue. However, Ben decided it was best for him to step down because of the untrue statements that had been circulating. Ben became president of Atlantic Records in 2014.
