There’s nothing better on a weekend morning than brunch, duh. But there are so many spots around town to try, how do you know where to do go? Ugh, so stressful. Kick back, grab another in a series of bottomless mimosas, and check out my fav brunch spots around ATL:
- Tea Leaves & Thyme
8990 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188
All right, bear with me here; we’re going OTP for this one. Like, way OTP. But, if you’re looking for a quaint, quiet place with no screaming college kids then this is this place. This isn’t really the kind of place you’d take your girls for a mimosa filled brunch. But, if you’re looking to score major brownie points with your mom and ask her for money, this place is a winner every time. (I’m speaking from experience here).
- WaHo
Every street in the entire city – ITP & OTP
Okay this is a given, but I swear nothing cures a hangover like a plate of hash browns scattered and smothered and a waffle. Waffle House is a gift from the gods and we should be constantly reminded of how lucky we are to have it. #blessed
- Bagelicious
1255 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA 30068
Alright, we’re OTP again but its WORTH IT, especially because I whole heartedly believe bagels make the world go round. Creative Loafing called Bagelicious “an authentic New York deli experience in Atlanta,” and let me tell you, they’re not wrong. The walls are decorated with New York sports memorabilia, making the experience that much more authentic. They have every kind of bagel and schmear you could ask for. But when you go, go early, most mornings the line goes out the door and can take up to 45 minutes to get up to the counter, but trust: its worth it.
The best part? When you get cream cheese on your bagel they put almost enough for two bagels, TWO BAGELS WORTH! Need I say more??
- Ria’s Bluebird
421 Memorial Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
This place has brunch with a little bit of a southwestern flare. Whether you get the Bionic Breakfast of skillet potatoes with mushrooms, grilled corn, poblano peppers, spicy tofu sauce, and cheese, the shrimp and grits, or the traditional buttermilk pancakes, you pretty much can’t go wrong. The outside of the building is covered in murals, which makes for prime Instagramming. They also serve their breakfast all day. A L L D A Y. So when you roll out of bed at 1 o’clock after a night of drinking (read: binge watching Parks and Rec for the 12th time) you can still have brunch. FUN! AND they have rum soaked French toast. Why aren’t we there RIGHT NOW??
- Folk Art
465 N Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307
There’s a reason there’s always a crazy long wait to get a table at this place. It’s right in the heart of Inman Park, complete with exposed brick walls and a trendy mural on the side that’s oh-so Insta worthy. And the food will make you *swoon*. They have sweet potato beignets and something called ‘the randy’ – bacon dipped in pancake batter and deep-fried, DEEP-FRIED! And those are just appetizers. They also have a huge selection of breakfast cocktails that are to die for. I could honestly eat here everyday. And, bonus, its just a short walk from the beltline so you can walk off some of those beignets (or just walk to get a King of Pop pop, which is what I would do tbh).
