Fans have been a little confused as to why Selena Gomez has stepped out of the spotlight the last couple of months. Selena shared a photo on Instagram early this morning that she had been given a kidney transplant by her dear friend and actress Francia Raisa.  Gomez revealed to her fans in 2015 that she was diagnosed with lupus. Everyone was taken a little back in 2014 when Gomez entered a treatment facility in Utah where she was undergoing chemotherapy. Following her treatment, Gomez canceled her worldwide concert tour in 2016 after suffering with many of the side effects of Lupus.  Gomez says “Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made” Selena is excited to share her journey with this disease. Gomez is hopeful the transplant will not only help her health but also give hope for many others battling this disease.
