Coachella turned in to #Arichella when Ariana Grande gave a star-studded headlining performance on Sunday for the first weekend of the festival.
Our favorite 25-year old pop princess launched her performance with “God Is A Woman” and began giving festival-goers a performance that would in no time start trending.
Grande surprised everyone with an reunion of her childhood idols and one of our favorite throwback boy bands, ‘NSYNC, who were just as surprised and thrilled to a part of a headlining Coachella set. She introduced the performance with a mashup of her song “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” and “It Makes Me Ill” from the ’90’s boy band No String Attached album. Ariana Grande and ‘NSYNC then brought back the choreographed band moves along with fist-pumps for “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”
Following the ‘NSYNC surprise, Grande continued the set with more songs from the Sweetener album. After a few solo songs the set lead to an interlude of audio from The First Wives Club, (“You think just because I’m a movie star, I don’t have feelings. Well you’re wrong…I have feelings!”), where Nicki Minaj appeared onstage to perform “Side to Side” and “Bang Bang” with Ariana.
The pop princess rolled out a car with an “Arichella” tag for “7 Rings,” that followed with a heartfelt rendition of “Breathin’” that she sang with a live orchestra. After an outfit change, she performed her Childish Gambino collaboration “Break Your Heart Right Back,” unfortunately no Childish Gambino surprise.
Mase and P. Diddy, Sean Combs, joined Ariana Grande for an exciting interpretation of “Mo Money Mo Problems,” honoring rappers Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Nipsey Hussle, and to Grande’s former partner, Mac Miller.

Ariana Grande closed the amazing performance with her top hits “Break Free,” “No Tears Left to Cry,” and “Thank U, Next.” #Arichella was more than what people were expecting and we can only imagine what to expect for weekend two.
