Everyone always jokes about just having a shotgun wedding in Vegas, but turns out one of our favorite couples weren’t joking!
Less than a couple hours after the conclusion of the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner made their way to A Little White Wedding Chapel to tie the knot! Our last Jonas Brothers member is married and off the market.
Thanks to Diplo, fans were able to find out quickly that the Jonas Brothers member and Game of Thrones star were in the midst of an impromptu wedding ceremony. The DJ began posting to his Instagram story to capture several moments of Sophie walking down the aisle in white bridal attire, complete with a veil. The footage also included country music duo Dan + Shay performing an acoustic version of their popular song “Speechless” while Tuner walked down the aisle.
After exchanging vows, the couple exchanged ring pops instead of wedding bands. The best way to end their quickie wedding surrounded by some family and friends!
We first heard about the couples engagement in Oct. 2017 when they announced after more than a year together. Joe posted an Instagram photo captioning, “She said yes.”
Later after the engagement during an interview with Marie Claire, Sophie admitted, “There’s this weird misconception that being married is the greatest thing that’ll ever happen to you. But I’ve always found that my career is something I work for, and when I achieve something, there’s a sense that this is the greatest thing I’ll do in my life. It’s lovely to be engaged. Not like I achieved anything, but I found my person, like I’d find a house that I love and want to stay in forever. There’s a sense of peace that comes with finding your person. But there’s a drive that comes with your career.”
There may be a more official wedding down the road since a lot of their family and friends were missing from the ceremony. However in the meantime we are excited for the happy couple and are screaming congratulations to them both!
